Ivan Kashdan
Ivan is an artist based in London who makes murals that loosen up the hard confines of architecture – bringing elements to life using colour and playful mark making. With gentle associations and amorphous bodies, Ivan's paintings are visions of ecological and man-made communion, inviting nature into the fabric of the site. Exploring themes of sustainability, identity, neurodiversity and non-human perspective, he creates the conditions for viewers to form new connections with their environment.
Ivan studied at Slade School of Fine Art, after training at Bournemouth Film School. In 2022, he received the Jeanne Szego Travel Award to conduct research in ancient rainforests along the west coast of Scotland. In London, he has exhibited at Staffordshire St Gallery, The Tub Gallery, and completed multiple commissions, creating a 10m theatrical backdrop for Bloomsbury Theatre, and a 17m mural for Room2 Hotel, Chiswick.
