Hey! I’m Kay R. Dennis (they/them) a theatre-maker and creative human currently based in Cardiff. I’m a nonbinary, queer, disabled, fat and working-class artist originally from Stoke-on-Trent. I still feel really early on in my journey as a creative - finding the time and space to create alongside staying alive and paying bills isn’t something I’ve gotten down to a tee yet - I’m often working on multiple projects across the different things that I do to make ends meet.

This residency came at a time I really needed it - the fact that we were also put up in Gladstone’s Library was just the icing on the cake! Being given freedom to experiment without expectation has led to me developing an idea which I’ll definitely be continuing to work on outside of these two weeks. The fact we were also allowed to step into the rehearsals with the Constellations cast and crew was super invaluable as an artist - as someone who is neurodivergent - having a baseline and a framework for how a rehearsal room could look is immense when it comes to working on my own practice.
