A building for great artists
Our redeveloped building will safeguard the creation of theatre in Wales. The world-class facilities for making costume, sets and props will match the work created on our stages ensuring a long, sustainable and successful future.
A place for learning & connecting
Our redevelopment will make our building open and accessible. Fit-for-purpose spaces will enable us to increase opportunities for learning, teaching and social change, while the potential for increased earned income will help protect access initiatives.
A helping & healing building
New specialist facilities and sensory garden will provide fit-for-purpose spaces for health and wellbeing. Connected with exterior green spaces with areas for play, growing and respite, these areas will be open to everyone.
A leading green building
Using sustainable materials, with air source heat pumps replacing gas boilers, energy-efficient fittings, harvested rainwater for toilets and integrated greenery on the external walls and roof for insulation and biodiversity, the refurbishment aims to be a high-profile demonstration project for sustainable theatre-making, inspiring adaptation at other venues and transforming the way we work, make art, and engage with our communities.
