Newly redeveloped building opens

2023

December - Rock ‘n’ Roll pantomime takes place in the Big Top

July- Overall project is 12% complete and on schedule

955 cubic metres of waste has been disposed of and to date due to our waste management plan none of it has gone to landfill

Piling begins for the extension at the front of the building

Foundations put in place for the workshop at the back of Theatr Clwyd

June - Removal of the front of the building

Visit by Welsh Government Minister, Dawn Bowden

May - Removal of the roof where the new double height rehearsal room will be

Time Capsule buried, Kate Wasserberg appointed Artistic Director

April - Main theatre closes and seats removed (You can name one of the seats in the three auditorium spaces.)

March - Final production in the main theatre

January - Gilbert Ash start on site

November - Gilbert Ash Appointed Main Contractor

November - We moved into temporary theatre facilities

Transition to independent charity from Flintshire County Council ownership

Lockdown, Theatr Clwyd becomes a blood bank and all community projects move online. Theatr Clwyd becomes responsible for music education across Flintshire
